The Portsmouth Force U14 team won 91-16, their first win of the season. Jeff Humby gave us the match report:
Game 3 …. We welcomed Chichester GSD to Admiral Lord Nelson School and, in need of a win to get our season underway, the boys have done the club proud with a very dominant win!!!
First Quarter was, a solid and quick start from the Portsmouth Force as Max Humby got up high for the tip and we very quickly converted possession to the first points for the Force as Dylan Keating made a solid layup, once the first basket was made scoring was free flowing from all the boys on the court has given the Force a strong lead at the end of the first, 19 – 6
Second Quarter, the boys didn’t let up and continued to score freely, our offence proving too much for the GSD defensive game and the Force piled on the scoring pressure, along with a very impressive defensive game meaning we dominated in our own paint and prevented GSD from getting a single point in the entire quarter! 25 – 0
In the third Quarter, Not wanting to lose any momentum the boys again came out firing with quick points from Ellis Urwin and Max before GSD had a few points of their own, after a tactical change from the coach we got back to scoring with points from Cameron Vincent and Dylan Topliss … Force taking the 3 rd 20 – 5
Fourth Quarter, another quick-fire start with Charlie Milner making a quick 3 points from a layup and free throw line plus a flurry of drives and points from Jon Hardesty pushing the score into the 70's, GSD replied with 3-pointers of their own but the game was well and truly over by then 27 - 5.
A fantastic 91 - 16 win for the Portsmouth Force U14 team and our first of the season, it a good all-round performance too as 11 of the team got points, we look to follow up this performance with another home game next Sunday (13/11/22) as we welcome Sussex Storm 2 back to the Admiral Lord Nelson School
