Portsmouth Force vs Sussex Storm 1 U12

Our U12 team lost this weekend against Sussex Storm by 19-83, here is the report:

After a few tough trips away, Portsmouth Force U12 were back at home, hoping to get a win under their belt as they came up against fellow mid-table rivals Sussex Storm 1.

There was lots of support at The Lord Admiral School today and the team were buzzing and feeling confident as they went into the game against another unknown opponent.

The main thing today was to stay positive and not to worry about mistakes and to learn about the opposition not giving away fouls and trying to be more effective in defending the offensive attacks will come in time as experience is gained remembering this is only the team's first season.

The first quarter started tight but was getting controlled by Sussex Storms N0. 10 & 18 and although they had opportunities the ball would just not drop for Portsmouth Force today and put them under pressure with the 1st quarter getting away from them with a 21-0 deficit.

In the 2nd quarter, Portsmouth Force started to put points on the board but Coach Andy wanted to see more commitment from the Team remembering what they do in training and relaying it on Match days making it more difficult for the travelling team.

The enthusiasm was there but Sussex Storm was so organised defensively on the day making it difficult for the Home side to cut through their defence too quickly throughout the game reflecting in the result.

The Team will continue to work on their defence being stronger in the air around the basket and keeping away the opposition from the danger zones.

The Team remain positive and resilient and their next game next week away to Kennett Kingfishers will be another day.
